Free Bibles for Kindle & Nook in multiple languages

For all my e-reader Bibles go to my Bibles for e-readers page.

For my own personal use, I have formated several Bibles for the Kindle and while I was at it converted them to the EPUB format for the Nook, Sony Reader, Kobo eReader, and others.  The texts of all these Bible are in the public domain.  Here are all the versions I have made, all available in one place.  The navigation has been updated and now is the same across all versions.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I don’t own a Nook or any other EPUB device, so it would be good to know if all the versions work on the different devices.

In addition to the Parallel Bibles I have formated Linked Bibles with multiple languages.  These are the latest and the ones I use the most.

I tried to convert the Hebrew Bible into Kindle, but it is not that simple due to the lack of support in the Kindle format. However, I did create an ePUB file that may work on some devices (It did show up in an on-screen reader). So if anyone wants to give it a try, let me know by leaving a comment. I will not put it up until it has been successfully tried out by different people on different devices.

  2. Thomas, thanks for updating the navigation for the Russian version. It’s faster to navigate having the table of contents available on the beginning of every book. Is this the only update or I missed something else?

  4. Thanks so much for sharing your work – it will be great to have the Alb bible on my kindle when I’m out, and for personal language study (I’m not good enough to use the Alb bible for spiritual study … yet!!).

    Bible supposed to be free in any language! Especially, if it is a file to download.

  14. I’m so thankful for finding this website. I’ve been looking for a KJV Bible for my Kindle Touch. I found one here and for free. I even got to use it right away to follow my son doing chapel in school. Thanks so very much!!!

    1. I am glad it is helpful to you. You did notice that there is a parallel version and a linked version? I use one or the other depending on circumstances.

I would be interested in trying out the Hebrew one – in fact, I’ve been looking for a free copy for my Kindle. you mentioned you had an epub version – I usually convert epub books with Caliber, but in this case, because of the fonts, do you think it will convert?   21. Does this work on Kindel Fire? I’ve tried to download it several times. It downloads okay but then says it can’ t open the file…..

  22. I know you must have worked long and hard to achieve this excellent version for kindle. I have been trying to do a similar thing with another version but so far without success. Thankyou for your efforts and achievements – they are very much appreciated and have blessed me.

  29. Hello. Thank you for your work. But how to download a bible from your site now? I tried to load your page from the Kindle but clicking on the download there doesn’t lead to download. Sorry, I just start using an e-book
